- PTA '100 Club'
The PTA meetings are relaxed and informal and take place once a month for no longer than 1½ hours. The PTA is a great way to keep in contact with what’s going on in the school. Getting involved with the PTA in whatever way you can is a great support to all the pupils and staff.
We have a roll of approximately 1200 children but only 9 parents on our committee!
We desperately need new members – please come along to our next meeting.
If you are unable to come to the meetings but want to receive PTA updates and be notified of PTA events then please complete and detach the tear off slip on the September Newsletter and return to the school office FAO ‘The PTA’ or email the PTA on pta@uddingstongrammar.com

When you search the Web with easysearch instead of Google or any other search engine, you’ll raise funds for the PTA with every search you make! Just like easyfundraising it’s completely free to use and if you make just 10 searches a day, you could raise £20 a year - or more - for the PTA, just by switching to easysearch. Dear Staff Member / Parent / Friend of the school,
The PTA intends to run the “100 Club” again this session 2008/2009 and we hope you will consider joining. This is a simple and effective way to raise funds for the PTA. The Club works as follows:-
Its principal aim is to raise funds for school projects but at the same time give prizes to members who subscribe, in a draw which takes place each month. In previous years the scheme has run over 12 months but this session it has been reduced to 10 months due to a delayed start. Therefore, the cost this year is £10 for a 10 month membership (£1.00 for each month) and you will be allocated a number when you become a member.
Half of the money raised is given in prizes (three prizes each month) while the other half of the money collected goes towards projects identified as needing funding within the school. The value of the prizes depends on the number of people subscribing. If 100 people (hence 100 Club) take part then £500 will be given in prizes over the 10 months and the remaining £500 will go towards fund-raising. If 200 people join, then the prize fund is £1,000 and so on.
The Club will be run on strict guidelines, with the winning numbers being drawn at PTA meetings, available from the school each month or the school website and the winners notified by letter. At the end of the year a list of the prize winners will be issued to each member.
If you are unable to participate in other fund-raising activities run by the PTA, this would be a good way in which you could make a contribution to the school at the same time as having the chance of winning a prize yourself. The success of the venture depends on parents, teachers and friends of the school joining the scheme. If you would like to assist the PTA in its efforts to support the school, please:
ü Complete your details on the slip below (or an a separate sheet of paper)
ü Seal it in an envelope along with £10 in case or a cheque for £10 made out to Uddingston Grammar School PTA 100 Club
ü Write PTA on the outside of the envelope
ü Hand the envelope into the school office
We hope to have the Club up and running soon and you will be notified of your number before the first draw.
Please also give some thought to other members of your family, friends or parents of former pupils joining the Club as this could greatly boost our funds for minimum effort and cost.
